Blacksmith’s Incremental Docker Builds feature follows a simple, usage-based pricing model with no fixed costs.

Storage Costs

Incremental Docker Builds store Docker layer caches on sticky disks. All sticky disk storage is billed at $0.50 per gigabyte per month, snapshotted by the hour.

Compute Costs

Incremental Docker Builds run on the same GitHub Actions runners that process your workflows. This means:

1. There are no separate compute charges for using Incremental Docker Builds
2. Your builds are charged at the standard Blacksmith runner pricing rates
3. The time savings from cached builds directly translate to cost savings on compute

Monitoring Usage

Users can login to the Blacksmith dashboard and navigate to the Usage & Billing page to get a breakdown of their current usage.
